J2EE.A.3 Changes Since Public Release 2

J2EE.A.3.1 Additional Requirements

• Added requirements related to HttpSession objects in distributable applications. See Section J2EE.6.6, "Servlet 2.2 Requirements."

• Many JDBC drivers need access to system properties for configuration. To allow such drivers to work without modification in EJB containers, we added a requirement that enterprise beans are required to be able to read system properties. See Table J2EE.6-2.

J2EE.A.3.2 Removed Requirements

• None.

J2EE.A.3.3 Editorial Changes

• Changed terminology in Table J2EE.6-2 to match JDK 1.2 Security specification.

• Updated JMS requirement to refer to latest JMS specification version. See Section J2EE.6.8, "Java™ Message Service (JMS) 1.0 Requirements."

• Corrected trademark usage throughout the specification.

• Added missing ATTLIST entry and fixed security role description to be optional in application DTD. Updated figure to correspond to DTD. See Section J2EE.8.4, "J2EE:application XML DTD."

• Added missing ATTLIST entries in application client DTD. Updated figure to correspond to DTD. See Section J2EE.9.7, "J2EE:application-client XML DTD."
