Part I: Introduction

This first part of the book introduces Eclipse as a Rich Client Platformthe Eclipse RCP. Chapter 1 outlines the notion of "rich client platforms" and the origins of the Eclipse RCP, and illustrates its use with some real-world examples of RCP in use today. Chapter 2 gives an overview of Eclipse concepts, terminology, and architecture to ensure all readers have a common understanding.
